1 Timothy 6 : 9-11 says:
People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

The Simplicity of Salvation

Jesus said, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). Do you want to know how to be saved? Or want to know how you can tell others how to be saved? Then, let's look at Romans 10:1-10:
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? that is, to bring Christ down from above: 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead. 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The Righteousness That God Rejects
When a person tries to be righteous by keeping the Ten Commandments or by doing good deeds, God rejects that. Why would God do that? Because God is holy and man is sinful at his best. The best that we can do is not enough.
We don't have what it takes to keep the Ten Commandments in our own strength. If you're hanging over a fire by a chain of ten links and nine of them are forged steel and one of them is made of paper, how safe are you?
That's the reason the Bible says if we should keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, we are guilty of all. God demands perfection and we just can't supply it. Salvation is not a reward for the righteous; it is a gift for the guilty. Salvation is not a goal to be achieved; it is a gift to be received.
The Righteousness That God Reveals
Romans 1:17 says, "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." The only righteousness that is acceptable to God is a gift of faith through His Son Jesus Christ.
You believe in who He says He is – the God made flesh who died and rose again for you to be reconciled to God. Then, you repent of your sins and confess Christ as Lord of your life.
If Jesus is not the Lord of your life, then He is not your Savior. Salvation is not a cafeteria line where we say, "Well, I believe I'll have a little Savior today, but no Lordship. Thank you." No! Jesus is Lord.
The Righteousness That God Requires
The only righteousness that God will accept is sinless perfection. And that was accomplished through His Son Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:21 says, "This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Do you know what it means to believe and confess that Jesus is Lord? It literally means that you agree with God. In this context, it also means that you will tell others about this confession. And that means you will not be ashamed. There are only two ways to be saved: If you live a sinless life (which no one has done, except Jesus) or you ask the Jesus to take the payment of your sin for you (which He did on the cross), and accept His righteousness on your behalf. Second Corinthians 5:21 says, "For He [God] hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."

1 Pedro 1:3-7 --> ... que sois guardados por el poder de Dios mediante la fe, para alcanzar la salvación que está preparada para ser manifestada en el tiempo postrero.
En lo cual vosotros os alegráis, aunque ahora por un poco de tiempo, si es necesario, tengáis que ser afligidos en diversas pruebas, para que sometida a prueba vuestra fe, mucho más preciosa que el oro, el cual aunque perecedero se prueba con fuego, sea hallada en alabanza, gloria y honra cuando sea manifestado Jesucristo : )
But "living and keeping friendships" are not always easy. Or should I say, it's very very difficult if you don't learn to fully rely on God. One thing about friendship and friends that is the most difficult to do is dealing with envy and jealousy.
Many times we act like mere men. The apostle Paul reminded us of this on his first letter to the Corinthians: You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly ? Are you not acting like mere men ?
OK, you may ask what does this has to do with your friendship and friends ? Well, friends do suffer from envy and do struggle with jealousy. I am not only speaking specifically of my friend or of me tonight, although I know we've battled and still battle with this as well. I am speaking of many people and situations I've seen throughout the years inside and outside church. It's not just one case. There are many everywhere. Because of respect for my friends, I better not focus on details.
But these acquaintances, friends and situations worry me sometimes. Better make that always, not only sometimes. It worries me a lot. It worries me what would be of our local church a few years down the road.
Things I´ve seen have stopped me dead in my tracks. I've seen that years of studying the bible, time spent devouring the Word of God and graduating from seminary doesn't necessarily protect you or make you stronger against jealousy, envy, ill-will, spite, resentment, what have you. It's how much you truly surrender yourself to the Lord, confess your sins, forgive, forget and move on.
Let us remember always Philippians 3:13-14, the apostle Paul wrote: Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
May our Almighty God help us all, including me, with our daily struggles and learn to move on, to press on toward the goal heavenward.

Last night I led another bible study. It was linked with last week´s topic: friendship. We learned once more about the example given to us by the biblical friendship between David and Jonathan.
I invited a friend last night to participate and he went. This friend of mine studied in bible seminary for some years. Got back here and began serving. I appreciate him a lot and although we didn't shared a lot throughout the years before, I think we've become closer lately and have shared more.
Living, doing and practicing what you are preaching gives us all many satisfactions and much to be shared in Christian life ... (to be continued later

Dear Lord,
Is it your will my Dear Lord ? I can´t get this question off my mind lately. It began as a dream years ago. Now it´s stronger. I am not finding joy in my current life anymore. You know that this rat race has left me without strength. This cough hasn´t left me for a long time. Everyday I arrive office with a strange sadness. You haven´t opened doors with that special person yet. I only know your will for me is good, pleasing and perfect. Give me your wisdom, your love and peace everyday. Help me to use a two year period to plan wisely. I am willing dear God, I am willing...

I am not at peace right now. Please forgive me. Thanks for the lesson today. Thanks for the verse in James that reminds me: We all stumble in many ways.
My intention was never to put her in such a difficult situation my Lord, but I´ve learned your painful lesson of love once again. I was willing to share more both honestly and sincerely, but I couldn't see the whole picture at that moment, but only afterwards when thinking with serenity. I should have been more wise and mature. Please open my eyes and heart next time my Lord, so that I am able to see beyond her words. Give me more of your wisdom everyday my loving God...give me your peace, I am needing it now, it hurts so much...
